Allister Coetzee has been named as the new South Africa rugby union head coach. The former assistant coach has been tasked with changing the racial mix of the team and rediscovering a winning culture. The 52-year-old succeeds Heyneke Meyer, who resigned in December after leading the Springboks to third place at last year's World Cup. Coetzee previously coached Stormers and Western Province in the Super 14, before a spell with Kobe Steel Kobelco Steelers in Japan.
