Sharjah goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani has set a record for the first time in his career, leading the team to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2, for the second time in the team's history.

This came after winning on penalties against Jordan's Al Hussein Irbid 3-0, yesterday, Tuesday, at Sharjah Stadium, after the regular and extra time ended with a 1-0 win for the Jordanian team, and 1-1 on aggregate, with Sharjah winning 1-0 in the first leg.

Al Hosani saved 3 penalty kicks, leading his team to the quarter-finals for the second time after qualifying for the first time in the 2004 edition.

This is the first time in his history that Al Hosani has saved this number of penalty kicks in a single match.

Al Hosani expressed his happiness with what he achieved and his contribution to his team's qualification to the quarter-finals, noting that he did not expect the match scenario to be this result.

He added that the goalkeeper's chances in penalty kicks are less than those of the player taking the penalty kick, but focus, luck and support from his teammates led him to stop the penalty kicks.

According to statistics from the UAE Pro League, Ali Al Hosani participated in 14 matches with the team during the current season of the ADNOC Pro League, keeping a clean sheet in 10 matches, and stopping 23 shots on goal.
