Russian athlete could be stripped of 2012 Olympic gold

A Russian gold medalist from the 2012 London Olympics, could be stripped of his title, as part of the latest round of punishments being handed out. Racewalker Sergey Kirdyapkin, along with five other athletes have had more of their results cancelled after an appeal by the IAAF and punishments handed out by the Court of Arbitration for Sport who didn’t deem the initial doping sanctions harsh enough. If he’s stripped of his gold medal, then Australia's Jared Tallent, could see history rewritten by having his silver result upgraded to gold.
