Manchester City thrashed Watford 8-0 to emphatically slice Liverpool's lead at the top of the Premier League to just two points.

The reigning champions scored five goals in the first 18 minutes of the match as they became only the seventh side to win a top-flight game by eight goals in the modern era.

Elsewhere Leicester come from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at the King Power Stadium.

The loss drops Spurs to fifth place in the points table.

Saturday's other matches saw Burnley beat Norwich 2-0, Sheffield United get the better of Everton 2-0 while Newcastle and Brighton played out a goalless draw.
