Treble-winners Manchester City have agreed a £77 million deal for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

The Croatian is expected to fly to England this week for a medical, before joining the Premier League Champions.

Gvardiol has played 87 times for Leipzig since signing for them from Dynamo Zagreb in 2021. The left-sided defender will add strength to Pep Guardiola’s squad and will be the club’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of fellow Croatian star Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

Manchester City takes on Arsenal in the Community Shield this Sunday before kicking their Premier League campaign off away to Burnley on August 11.
