The second edition of UAE Cricket’s flagship domestic 10-over tournament will kick off this week.

Emirates D10 is scheduled to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from March 24 to April 5.

The six-team event will see UAE’s top five domestic sides as well as an ‘Emirates Blues’ team - formed by Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and comprising of a mix of junior and senior players - compete in a 33-match tournament.

One of the highlights this year is a women’s fixture, which will serve as a curtain-raiser for the final.

"Emirates Cricket & ITW Consulting are firmly focused on developing women’s cricket across the region with this being the first such initiative toward building a strong (UAE) women’s team for the future," the ECB said in a statement.

"As with the 2020 edition, matches of the D10 2021 will be witnessed by members of our National Selection Committee with a view of consideration for future (National team) selection," said Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman of Emirates Cricket Board.

"We are also very keen to see women in the UAE participate and compete in the inaugural tournament as it provides an excellent platform to continue to fine-tune their skills," added Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Selection Committee Chairman, Emirates Cricket.
