Company urges England fans to buy shirts, despite World Cup loss

A UK-based company is facing a financial loss after bulk buying 18,000 T-shirts and printing a slogan "England, World Cup Winners 2022. It's Finally home".

Football fan Karl Baxter was so convinced the England team was going all the way in Qatar that he had the shirts printed ahead of the quarter-finals.

Gareth Southgate's team, however, lost to France in the quarter-finals leaving Baxter with 18,000 useless tops.

Speaking to the media he said he already had a stock of blank sports jerseys and decided to ride the wave of good performances by England anticipating they would emerge as the champions.

Now, he faces double disappointment as a fan and a business owner.

In a final attempt to get rid of the shirts, Karl Baxter posted an advertisement on his website offering the stock at a discounted price, telling customers they can either wear the jerseys or use them to clean windows.
