A history fanatic in China inadvertently purchased books containing military secrets for less than $1 at a local recycling station.
The confidential documents were sold by two military employees to a recycling centre as waste paper, instead of shredding them as instructed.
Over 200 books made it to the recycling station which is where they were bought by a military enthusiast, identified as a Mr. Zhang.
Zhang only realised what he had bought when he returned home and quickly called authorities to report it. Security agents immediately rushed to the location to collect the remaining books.
Zhang was praised by China's Ministry of State Security after calling a hotline to report the incident.
