Dubai Police has added the Lucid Air Grand Touring, one of the world's most advanced electric vehicles, to its tourist police patrol fleet.

Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, received a detailed handover from Faisal Sultan, Vice President and Managing Director Middle East at Lucid, at the Dubai Police Officers Club.

Al Marri emphasised that this initiative reflects Dubai Police's commitment to supporting the UAE's vision for a green economy and aligns with the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 by embracing the latest technologies and systems that promote sustainable and eco-friendly development. “The initiative also includes measures to reduce carbon emissions and prioritise clean energy in daily operations,” he added.

Al Marri also noted that the introduction of the distinctive, electric, and eco-friendly Lucid Air Grand Touring enhances the electric patrol fleet of the Tourist Police Department. “This initiative promotes police visibility, particularly in tourist areas and during community events, while strengthening the connection between Dubai Police and the community.”

Through the agreement, Dubai Police will incorporate the 'Lucid Air Grand Touring' model into its fleet, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in all areas of service and duty, from community policing to transportation.

The 819-horsepower Lucid Air Grand Touring is the first production vehicle to achieve a WLTP estimated range of up to 839 km on a single charge1. For 2024, the vehicle’s innovations have gotten even sharper, adopting technology advancements first seen in the Lucid Air Sapphire that deliver a longer driving range in more conditions and faster charging.

Lucid is a Silicon Valley-based technology company focused on creating the most advanced EVs in the world.
