Video: Dubai Police impounds 36 cars over 2 days

As many as 36 cars were seized by the Dubai Police over two days after reckless drivers were caught indulging in stunts that endangered their lives and those of others.

The violations ranged from "reckless driving, causing road disturbances, making unauthorised modifications to the vehicle's engine or chassis, disturbing residents, unclear number plates, and littering public roads".

Dubai Police stressed they would show no leniency for serious traffic violations and reminded the public that the fine to release an impounded vehicle can reach up to AED 50,000.

According to the officials, at least 80 per cent of the violators were involved in severe accidents that resulted in fatalities and major injuries.

Citizens were urged to report road violations through the "Police Eye" service of the Dubai Police app or by contacting the "We Are All Police" service at 901.
