UAE's 100 Million Meals campaign delivers 10.8 million meals locally

Supplied

More than 10.8 million meals have been distributed in the UAE as part of the 100 Million Meals campaign.

A total of 362,280 beneficiaries received food parcels containing essential ingredients to prepare meals for one month.

As many as 182,916 low-income families and 179,364 low-income individuals have benefitted from the humanitarian drive.

More than 1,000 volunteers worked alongside the UAE Food Bank and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) to support the distribution efforts.

To ensure a seamless distribution operation, the Food Bank followed a six-pronged approach – operating model, beneficiaries, product, suppliers, delivery, and governance and funding.

The 100 Million Meals initiative was launched by MBRGI during the holy month of Ramadan in 2021 to feed the needy and provide a food safety net to low-income communities.

The campaign is continuing its food aid distribution drive in several countries, ensuring AED 216 million worth of support reaches beneficiaries in over 30 countries throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
