UAE welcomes 17th group of Palestinian patients

WAM

The 17th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients have arrived in the UAE to undergo treatment.

The patients and their family members were evacuated from Gaza and transported to Abu Dhabi from Al Arish Airport in Egypt.

Those in need of immediate care were transferred to hospitals, while other patients and their companions were taken to their residence in the Emirates Humanitarian City.

They were flown to the country under a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting Palestinian people amid the war in Gaza.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had issued directives to provide medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in the UAE's hospitals.

To support the health sector in Gaza, the UAE has also established a field hospital in the enclave and a floating hospital in the Egyptian city of Arish, and continues to provide hospitals in the Gaza Strip with ambulances, equipment and medicines.
