UAE, Uzbekistan renew strategic partnership for 3 more years

WAM

The UAE and Uzbekistan will extend strategic partnership for another three years under a new MoU, which will introduce 10 vital sectors towards government modernisation.

The move reflects the strong relations between the two governments, and builds on the success since the partnership was launched in 2019.

The MoU was signed by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The partnership will now include finance, education, economy, government leadership, food security & agriculture, and ports & customs.

In total, the new partnership will cover 27 sectors, involving initiatives in government modernisation to benefit from the UAE’s experience and promote the relations between the two nations.

The announcement was made as President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Gergawi reviewed the achievements of the 2019 partnership.
