The UAE cabinet has launched a AED 7 million award to recognise federal government employees who help eliminate bureaucracy.

The 'Zero Bureaucracy Award' will honour teams, individuals and entities that simplify government procedures, reduce regulatory burdens and contribute to preserving financial resources.

This was announced during a cabinet meeting, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

"By honouring those who streamline processes and enhance efficiency, we aim to celebrate creativity and dedication. These efforts exemplify our commitment to strengthening national competitiveness and delivering excellent public service," said Sheikh Mohammed.

The final UAE cabinet meeting of 2024 was held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Members reflected on a year of exceptional achievements and unprecedented economic growth.

The UAE ranked first globally in 223 development indicators and among the top five in 444 across key global reports, highlighting excellence across major sectors including business, economy, infrastructure and technology.

During the meeting, the cabinet approved the governance framework for the Education, Human Resources and Community Development Council, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The cabinet also established the UAE Entrepreneurship Council, chaired by Alia Al Mazrouei, with a dedicated AED 300 million fund to support youth-led projects and encourage entrepreneurship in the UAE’s growing economy.

The National Policy for Preserving Modern Architectural Heritage, a strategic initiative designed to protect the country’s architectural legacy, was also approved.
