UAE supports humanitarian aid to Bangladesh

WAM

The UAE has supported the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in delivering an aid shipment to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh.

It comes after recent floods destroyed a refugee camp and displaced more than a million Rohingyas.

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, highlighted the importance of the support, especially at a time when the world fights to curb the spread of coronavirus.

She also noted that the UAE's efforts are a reflection of the humanitarian values exemplified by the wise leadership.

The partnership between the UAE and the UNHCR in Bangladesh is a continuation of previous partnerships and is part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to support refugees and host communities.
