UAE Stands with Lebanon: Relief aid collection begins on Saturday

WAM

The collection of relief aid for the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign begins on Saturday, October 12 at Expo City Dubai's Exhibition Centre, running from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

This initiative is based on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Dubai Cares will organise and oversee the effort, supported by volunteers from various nationalities and community groups, in partnership with donors, institutions, and business leaders from Dubai.

This initiative reflects the campaign’s commitment to humanitarian solidarity and support for the Lebanese people during these difficult times.

The relief drive, which was launched on October 8, is part of a public campaign that will continue until Monday, October 21.

The UAE has contributed $100 million in urgent assistance to Lebanon so far, including the dispatch of nine relief planes carrying 375 tonnes of supplies.

These deliveries have included 205 tonnes of medical supplies, food and shelter equipment, 93 tonnes of additional food items, and 37 tonnes of essential supplies specifically for children and women.

Additionally, $30 million in relief aid has been allocated to support Lebanese refugees in Syria.
