The UAE has dispatched two aid planes, carrying 47 tonnes of medical supplies to help Tunisia in the fight against COVID-19.

The shipment included respirators and oxygen cylinders to be used by healthcare workers to treat patients.

Last month, the UAE sent 500,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Tunisia, while 11 tonnes of medical equipment were delivered in November 2020.

Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia, said the Emirates is closely monitoring the COVID-19 developments and the health situation in the North African nation.

Since the start of the pandemic, the UAE has provided more than 2,200 tonnes of medical supplies to more than 135 countries.
