UAE President approves AED 3.3b housing benefits package

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved the disbursement of a AED 3.3 billion housing package to Abu Dhabi citizens.

The package, which was also given the green light by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, included loans valued over AED 3 billion, benefitting 1,766 citizens. 

As part of the package senior citizens, retirees with limited income and deceased heirs were exempt from paying outstanding housing loans, which totalled AED 262.8 million from 249 people. 

The disbursement of the second package of housing benefits this year coincides with the approaching Eid Al-Adha. 

His Excellency Muhammad Ali Al-Sharafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “We extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council. To the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, for their generous directives to disburse the second housing benefits package for this year, which highlights the continued commitment of our wise leadership to providing a decent life for the people of the nation and their families, which contributes to strengthening family bonds and activates their role in contributing to continuing the comprehensive development process in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
