UAE: Nationwide rollout of Pfizer jabs for younger kids

The Pfizer-Biontech vaccine is being rolled out across the UAE for children aged 5 to 11.

According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention, unvaccinated children will be given two doses, 21 days apart.

Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the health sector's official spokesperson made the announcement during the government's latest media briefing on developments related to COVID-19.

She said that the Pfizer jab is being offered in addition to the previously approved Sinopharm vaccine for children aged 3-12.

Earlier, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) opened up appointment slots for the Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5-11, through the DHA app and via WhatsApp (800 342).
