UAE leaders offer condolences to Jordan's Queen Rania

UAE leaders have offered condolences to Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the wife of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan, on the death of her father, Dr Faisal Al-Yasin on Friday.

President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sent a cable of condolences along with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; and His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) expressed sympathy with Queen Rania and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of her father.

Dr Faisal Al-Yasin was born in the occupied West Bank in 1934 before studying medicine in Egypt and Northern Ireland. He lived in Kuwait for a while before settling in Jordan.
