UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai have shared messages of celebration on Emirati Women’s Day.

Posting on X, formally known as Twitter, the UAE President wrote: “To my dear mother, sisters, wife, and daughters... to all Emirati women, you inspire our blessed nation on its journey of collective progress and advancement. On Emirati Women's Day, we celebrate all those who uplift our nation towards a brighter future.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also took to X to celebrate the achievements of females across the UAE. He said: “We celebrate and celebrate Emirati Women's Day.. the partner in the march.. the creator of generations.. the mother of the martyrs.. the owner of the achievements...”

“Every year, you are stronger, more beautiful, and better... Every year, our country celebrates your achievements and excellence.. Happy new year to our families.. and our society to goodness..”

“May God protect you and perpetuate glory, goodness, cohesion and love for our country.”

The UAE celebrates Emirati Women's Day on Monday August 28 by recognising the outstanding achievements of Emirati women and their contribution to the nation’s development.

“We Collaborate for Tomorrow” is the theme of this year’s Emirati Women's Day, which was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation.

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world, and 11th globally, in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) 2022 Gender Inequality Index (GII) topping the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region for the third consecutive year. The UAE also topped the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region for the third consecutive year in the World Bank’s "Women, Business and the Law Report 2023". The UAE ranked first among Arab countries in the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2022 Global Gender Gap Report.

Over recent years, the UAE has issued new legislations and legislative amendments for more than 20 legal articles that included the areas of work, protection, political participation, personal status, judicial corps, wages, banking transactions, freedom of movement, marriage, entrepreneurship, property and pension, all of which would enhance the gains of women, guarantee and protect their rights and raise the UAE's stature in competitiveness indicators and global reports.
