The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced the establishment of the Zayed Education Foundation, aimed at empowering the next generation of global leaders.

The foundation will focus on equipping young talents to address pressing global challenges through collaboration in education, research and innovation.

By 2035, the foundation plans to support 100,000 young leaders, fostering economic, social and environmental progress worldwide.

Launched in the 'Year of Community', the initiative honours the legacy of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who strongly believed in the power of education and international cooperation to shape a better future.

At the heart of the foundation’s mission is the Zayed Scholars programme, offering merit-based university scholarships and leadership training.

The foundation will also fund pioneering research and innovation, providing grants to develop practical solutions to global challenges.

Starting in the UAE, the foundation will expand its initiatives across Arab nations and partner countries in the Global South, creating a global network of young leaders.

This new initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to sustainable development and the late Sheikh Zayed’s vision of a more inclusive world.
