UAE launches region's first search and rescue app

WAM

Help is now just a click away for people who are stranded in the desert, on the mountains or stuck at sea.

That’s because the UAE has launched the Arab World’s first smartphone app for search and rescue purposes.

Those in distress will be able to alert emergency services at the press of a button from anywhere in the country.

The UAE's National Search and Rescue Centre (NSRC) unveiled the technology at the National Search and Rescue Forum in Abu Dhabi.
