UAE issues new animal welfare laws

123 RF / luckybusiness

The UAE Cabinet has approved a series of new regulations aimed at better protecting dangerous animals.

Under the new laws, individuals are not allowed to own animals like lions and tigers.

It dictates that only licensed facilities like zoos are now allowed to house them.

These facilities have also been given strict guidelines on how to treat animals. They include several new provisions about enclosures, including how big they are.
