The UAE has called for an immediate halt to violence, and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to people in Sudan.

During the Mediators Panning Retreat on Sudan in Djibouti, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, highlighted the growing humanitarian crisis and threat of famine in Sudan.

In a speech, the UAE Minister of State stressed that the meeting reflects the current critical situation for the Sudanese people.

He reiterated the need for the international community to intensify its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in order to facilitate a resolution to the conflict and its humanitarian repercussions, and to provide an urgent and coordinated response to meet the needs of the Sudanese people.

Sheikh Shakhboot also emphasised the UAE’s stance, supporting all efforts to de-escalate tensions and end the crisis and advocating for a peaceful resolution through dialogue, not military means.

To date, the UAE has established two field hospitals in Chad for displaced Sudanese and has contributed a total of $245 million in aid since April 2023.
