UAE honours Russian foreign minister with 'Order of the Union'

Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, has received one of the UAE's highest honours.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, presented Lavrov with the 'Order of the Union'.

Meanwhile, Lavrov's deputy, Mikhail Bogdanov was presented with the 'Order of Zayed II'.

The Russian officials were honoured at the Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohamed and Lavrov discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties, and reviewed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.

They also touched on the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of expanding cooperation in this regard.

It was an honour to present Sergey Lavrov, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs with the UAE's Order of the Union, and his deputy Mikhail Bogdanov with the Order of Zayed II.
