UAE Foreign Minister, Blinken discuss strategic partnership

WAM

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday.

The two diplomats discussed the strong friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, highlighting last month's official visit by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the US.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the deep-rooted friendship between the UAE and the US, built on trust, mutual respect, and shared interests, particularly in promoting regional and global peace and stability.

The discussions also covered pressing regional and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Both ministers stressed the need for intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire and protect civilians, while also addressing the latest developments in Lebanon.
