UAE expresses concern over violence in East Jerusalem

WAM

The UAE has expressed deep concern over the acts of violence committed by right-wing extremist groups in the occupied East Jerusalem that has left several civilians injured.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation rejected and condemned "all forms of violence and hatred that contravene with humanitarian values and principles".

The Ministry also called upon the Israeli authorities to “assume responsibility towards the de-escalation and put an end to all aggressions” that threaten the stability of the region.

It also underlined the "need to preserve the historical identity of occupied Jerusalem and maintain maximum self-restraint" to ensure peace is maintained in the region.
