UAE distributes Eid clothing to 44,000 in Syria

WAM

The UAE continues to lend a helping hand to people affected by an earthquake that struck Syria in February.

An Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) delegation is distributing Eid clothes to thousands of families impacted by the quake as well as cancer patients.

The initiative aims to distribute 11,000 vouchers to as many as 44,000 beneficiaries in the governorates of Homs, Aleppo, Hama and Lattakia.

The move is part of Operation "Chivalrous Knight / 2" launched by the Joint Operations Command of the UAE Ministry of Defence to support the people of Syria by dispatching 185 aircraft carrying essential food and medical supplies.

Khaled Hboubati, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, thanked the UAE government and people for their immediate response to address the ordeal caused by the earthquake.
