UAE condemns Houthi attack on oil port in Yemen's Hadramout

WAM

The UAE has strongly condemned the Houthis for targetting Dhabbia oil port in Yemen's Hadramout with two booby-trapped drones.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), the UAE stressed that the attack is a dangerous escalation and blatant defiance to the international laws and efforts to solve the Yemeni crisis.

The ministry urged the international community to take a decisive stance to stop the crimes committed by the Houthi militias and pave the way for a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen.

Meanwhile, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg denounced the attack as a "deeply worrying military escalation".

"At this critical juncture, I call on the parties to show utmost restraint and double their efforts to renew and expand the truce and lay the groundwork for a permanent ceasefire, and activating a political process to end the conflict," he added.
