The UAE has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a hotel in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, which resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasised its firm rejection of all forms of violence and extremism aimed at undermining security and stability.

The Ministry also expressed its condolences and sympathy to the Somali government and people and the families of the victims, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

Al Shabab militant group claimed responsibility for Friday's attack on the Pearl Beach hotel, a popular spot at Lido beach along Mogadishu's coastline.
