It’s World Polio Day today and the UAE is at the forefront of stamping out the disease worldwide.

In a Tweet, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has reaffirmed the Emirates’ commitment to work towards a world free of polio.

Since 2014, the UAE has helped deliver more than 417 million doses of polio vaccines.

Several landmarks in Abu Dhabi have lit up with World Polio Day's hashtag #endPolio to mark the occasion.
