UAE car buying habits revealed

123RF

When buying a car, most of us look to websites while doing our research, rather than ask friends and family.

That's according to a new study on car buying habits by the automotive portal YallaMotor.

The online survey found that people consult unbiased websites first, followed by social media, before asking third parties for advice.

Meanwhile, only 50 per cent of respondents would recommend a car dealer to a friend.

Jorge Bialade, General Manager of YallaMotor told ARN that buyers in the UAE are also very quick to make a purchasing decision compared to other markets.

He says this gives dealers a very small window to influence a potential buyer and that more attention to customer follow-up will secure both sales and referrals.

Bialade added that UAE consumers are more likely to look for energy-efficient vehicles, rather than gas guzzlers.
