UAE-based charity distributes iftar meals in 400 villages

WAM

The International Charity Organization (ICO), which is based in the UAE, said it distributed iftar meals across 400 Muslim villages in Ramadan 2025.

The campaign has covered several countries, including Mauritania, Somalia, Senegal, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Kenya. The campaign aims to alleviate the suffering of poor families during the holy month by distributing food parcels containing essential items to help them prepare iftar meals.

The Secretary-General of the Authority, Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, said that this initiative comes within the framework of supporting areas in need and is targeting 2,000 Muslim villages during the month of Ramadan.

It is being implemented through the offices of the ICO spread around the world, and based on field visits to study the needs of Muslim villages that are welcoming Ramadan with modest meals and facing difficult circumstances.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all partners in the success of the charity movement, including philanthropists, institutions, companies, and local media outlets, stressing that this support is a major reason for covering the needs of the largest number of regions and conveying the true image of communities that have tasted the bitterness of poverty.

He explained that the ICO, during its Ramadan campaign "What You Love," has placed the food provision project at the forefront of its priorities, not only in African countries, but also in countries that have suffered from wars.

It has provided generous support to those in Gaza through "Operation Gallant Knight 3," and continues to support needy families and orphans within the country, with the goal of achieving all its objectives during the holy month.
