The UAE, represented by its Ministry of Interior, sponsored the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS) 2024 held at the UN headquarters in New York.

During the summit the UAE delegation reiterated its commitment to international cooperation in combating crime and promoting global security, guided by the nations leadership.

The summit, attended by ministers, police chiefs, and senior officials from global police organisations, aims to enhance global security, stability, and peace through cooperation in policing and security globally.

During the event, Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix recognised the UAE's contributions to UN Police activities, including hosting conferences, training UN Police personnel, and participating in field visits to peacekeeping missions.

Additionally, on the sidelines of UNCOPS 2024, the International Initiative of Law Enforcement for Climate (I2LEC) hosted a panel discussion focused on global law enforcement strategies for environmental protection.

This initiative underscores efforts to integrate environmental considerations into law enforcement practices worldwide.
