UAE announces protocols for Omani citizens entering via land borders

WAM

Comprehensive guidelines have been announced for Omani citizens planning to travel to the UAE through land border crossings.

According to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), travellers must carry a negative PCR test result from accredited Omani laboratories and the validity period of the tests should not exceed 48 hours.

They will have to undergo additional PCR tests if they stay in the UAE for more than four days (a test on the fourth day), eight days (a test on the eighth day), and twelve days (a test on the 12th day).

Each visitor is also required to sign a pledge at the border. The head of the family can sign the pledge form for first-degree family members.

Meanwhile, Omani visitors who wish to travel to Abu Dhabi from another emirate, must state at the border into Abu Dhabi all of their travel details and local protocols will be applied.

NCEMA has also called on travellers to sterilize their luggage and comply with the precautionary and preventive measures, while elderly people and those suffering from chronic diseases have been advised not to travel.

As of November 16, Omani citizens can travel to the UAE via land borders without the need for prior approval.
