The UAE has announced 85 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 333 cases in the country.

That’s according to, Dr Farida Al Hosani, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health and Prevention, who also revealed that there have been seven new recoveries.

This means that 52 people have recovered so far from the novel coronavirus.

The announcement comes after a two-week nationwide closure of commercial centres, shopping malls and open markets was put in place, with the exception of pharmacies, supermarkets and all other food retail outlets.

Dr Farida clarified that all decisions are subject to further changes as the government continues to monitor the situation.
