UAE again leads the way regionally in ease of conducting business

For the third year running, the United Arab Emirates has ranked first among Arab countries in the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ report. According to national news agency WAM, the UAE has climbed one place to 31st globally, out of the 189 states measured for how they facilitate business. The UAE was also in the top 10 for documented improvements over the last year, with advances made in the delivery of electricity, processing of construction permits, protection of investors, and enforcement of contracts. The report assesses procedures and legislation which promote trade activity, quantitative indicators on business regulations and the protection of property rights, and obstacles affecting 10 areas in business.
