Two teenagers arrested in Abu Dhabi for reckless driving

Abu Dhabi Police

Two teenagers have been arrested in Abu Dhabi for reckless driving and breaking traffic rules during the Eid holidays.

Brigadier Mohammed Dhahi Al Humairi, director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Central Operations Division of Abu Dhabi Police, said the incident took place in Al Ain.

"A video of the stunts was posted on social media and showed two vehicles speeding dangerously. One of the cars, which did not have a licence plate, then crashed into the other vehicle," said Al Humairi.

Legal action will be taken against the teens, with the Abu Dhabi Police urging families to monitor their children and not allow them to drive without a licence.

Drivers caught driving recklessly face a fine of AED 2,000 and 23 black points, in addition to their vehicle being impounded for 60 days.
