Sheikh Tahnoon holds talks with Donald Trump

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, has focused on accelerating investment in AI and advanced tech during his talks with US President Donald Trump.

During a dinner banquet hosted at the White House, Sheikh Tahnoon conveyed the greetings of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Trump and thanked him for his "warm welcome and reception".

In a post on social media platform X, Sheikh Tahnoon said the talks focused on strengthening relations in sectors like infrastructure, industries, energy and healthcare, adding that "these sectors represent essential pillars of growth and sustainable development".

"Our discussions focused on the future of the long-term strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, and strengthening our shared vision for prosperity and progress," Sheikh Tahnoon wrote.

"The approach of the leadership of the two countries and their economic policies represent an important incentive to encourage foreign direct investment and strengthen the existing economic partnership between the two countries."

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said talks with Sheikh Tahnoon looked at "ways for our countries to increase our partnership for the advancing of our economic and technological futures".

"The evening demonstrated the long-standing ties and bonds of friendship between our countries," he wrote, adding, "UAE and the US have long been partners in the work to bring peace and security to the Middle East and the world."
