Two UAE nationals have been rescued after their vehicle got stuck in the desert in Sharjah's Maliha area.

A rescue patrol from the Sharjah Police General Command rushed to the site after being alerted about the incident on Wednesday.

In a post on their official Facebook page, Colonel Rashid bin Sandal, Head of the Rescue Department of Sharjah Police, said the men were unsuccessful in moving the car due to a mechanical problem.

Authorities have urged the public to ensure their vehicles are in order before they head out into the desert, and they must also carry first-aid kits and communication devices.

People are advised to dial 999, in case of emergencies.
