Making the announcement on social media, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) highlighted how the new traffic corridor will provide motorists access to Expo Road, JAFZA, Abu Dhabi and vice versa, without entering downtown areas.

"It will increase the road capacity to 4,400 vehicles per hour, and reduce the transit time from Lehbab Road eastward to Al Qudra Road northward by eight minutes," explained Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA.

"It will also reduce the transit time by four minutes from Lehbab Road westward to Al Qudra Road northward."
