Residents evacuated as fire breaks out in Sharjah tower block

Residents were evacuated from a Sharjah apartment block on Sunday afternoon following the outbreak of a fire in the building.

According to reports, the blaze originated around 1 p.m. on the fifth floor and subsequently spread to higher floors.

The tower is situated in the Al Majaz 2 neighborhood, by Jamal Abdul Naser street.

Emergency response teams from Sharjah Civil Defence, alongside police and ambulance services, were quickly on the scene.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause.
