Regional cyberattacks on the rise, say experts

WAM

Experts say that cyberattacks and breaches to critical infrastructure in the Middle East are increasing "exponentially".

Darkmatter's Senior Vice President for Managed Services has told the national news agency WAM that the attacks could be devastating to the economy.

Eric Eifert said they're being carried by foreign actors who want to flex their dominance in the region.

He said they target intellectual property to use for economic espionage.

However, Eifert said the cybersecurity industry is now creating the right technology to help governments and companies to understand the threats arising from cyberattacks.
