Ras Al Khaimah law enforcement has successfully trained its K9 unit to detect hidden electronic microchips and devices.

Taking to their official social media handle, the force said the unit of Labradors is one of the first in the region to be able to detect chips of various types, sizes and shapes effectively and with high accuracy.

Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al-Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al-Khaimah Police and the "K9" Security Inspection Department, were able to achieve this achievement after extensive research and a year of intensive training.

The dogs will provide assistance to field police units in various investigations across the emirate, in locations such as airport terminals and sea ports.
