Local authorities urge the public to refrain from sharing information from unofficial sources.
A total of 570 people were rescued in the mountains and valleys of Jebel Jais following heavy downpour and flooding.
According to UAE Federal Law, those proven guilty of spreading fake news could face imprisonment and fines up to AED 1 million.
