Dubai Police have issued 12,019 fines this year for unauthorised vehicle modifications that cause excessive noise and disturbances.

This includes 5,523 fines for vehicles modified to create loud noise and 6,496 fines for significant changes to engines or chassis without proper permits.

The offence is punishable with a fine of AED 2,000 in addition to 12 black points.

Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of Dubai Police's General Department of Traffic, emphasised that vehicles causing noise or disturbances can be impounded under Decree No. 30 of 2023. The release fee for an impounded vehicle can reach up to AED 10,000.

He also warned against equipping vehicles with technologies that increase engine speed.

The official urged drivers to avoid reckless behaviour, noting that penalties are in place for actions that endanger lives, road safety or property.

The public is encouraged to report violations through the "Police Eye" or "We Are All Police" services on the Dubai Police app or by calling 901.
