Number of car accidents drops in Ajman

The number of deaths caused by traffic accidents has dropped by 12 per cent in Ajman last year.

According to the emirate's police force, 15 people were killed in road crashes in 2019 in comparison to 17 the year before. 

Similarly, officials have confirmed that the number of life-threatening accidents in the emirate decreased by 11 per cent. 

In a statement, authorities also revealed that the number of pedestrian-related accidents have dropped by 19 per cent. 

One of the main causes for serious road accidents in the emirate was speeding. 

Other causes include swerving, changing lanes abruptly, overtaking other cars and tailgating.
