Nol Card can now be used for Dubai e-scooter rentals

WAM

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has expanded payment solutions for electric scooter users by enabling the nol Card as an additional option.

This service is now available across all RTA-accredited scooter providers in the emirate.

Users can link their nol Card to scooter operator apps and purchase hourly, daily or monthly packages using NFC technology on their smartphones. The service is available through the operator’s app.

Salahuddin AlMarzooqi, Director of Automated Collection Systems at the RTA, explained that the move aligns with the authority’s goal to improve first and last-mile connectivity by integrating public transport with flexible mobility options.

Nol Card is already widely accepted for public transport, including the metro, buses, trams and marine services, as well as for taxis and the Nakheel Monorail.

Additionally, the RTA is upgrading its nol system from card-based to an advanced account-based system, improving security, efficiency and the ability to customize services based on user needs.

The new system will offer features like trip planning, booking and pre-payment through smart channels, further enhancing Dubai’s smart mobility network.
