MoI to train 100 Philippine National Police specialists in child protection

WAM

The UAE Ministry of Interior, through its Child Protection Centre, has launched the Child Protection Specialist Programme, aiming to train 100 personnel from the Philippine National Police as specialists.

This initiative leverages UAE's expertise in legislation, investigation, and child protection to enhance community safety and crime prevention.

Attorney Benjamin C. Abalos, Secretary of Interior and Local Government of the Philippines, expressed his gratitude to the UAE and its Ministry of Interior for their efforts in child protection and bilateral cooperation.

The hybrid training programme combines workshops and virtual lectures, covering areas such as child abuse response, forensic evidence handling, and AI use in combatting online crimes.

This programme was launched in the UAE to enhance the capabilities of workers in the fields of child protection, dealing with reports, investigation, and the legal, psychological, social, and mental alertness fields.

The experience and knowledge will be beneficial to enhance the capabilities of investigators in the Philippines in accordance with the joint international cooperation between the two friendly countries.
